;D ;D ;D Congratulations to 7th Regiment on your first trip into the DCI World Open Class Finals!! Congratulations also for getting some of the very best scores you've ever acheived. You played hard and the rewards were great. Many thanks also to the staff and volunteers who helped get you out there!
I'm so proud of not only my own son, (Gage) but of every single member of the corp. You all looked and sounded great out there on the turf of Lucas Oil Stadium...I can only imagine what it was like from your point of view...a wall of cheering people!
There were never any criticisms in the stands when I heard people talking about 7th Regiment at performances through the season; it's ALL been good. The most frequent comments were... "Wow! 7th is amazing this year!" and "This corp has awsome percussion!" and "The music is great and their field presence is awesome for a corp that size; they sound so much bigger!" and of course..."Have you seen 7th Regiment this year? They're awesome!"
Enjoy the rest of your time out there, savor every minute, and come home to us safe and sound. We've missed you, but we know you were right where you wanted to be.
We'll be waiting for our 2009 World Open Class Finalists! ... gotta love the sound of that!

Well - on Friday August 7th, I got to see the 7th Regiment for the first time in full dress on the field performing at the DCI Open Class Semi Finals, and oh boy - I was not dissapointed, matter of fact, I had a hard time seeing this fantasic performance live streamed from DCI on my computer monitor because I had all this watering in the eyes issues!!! Man, did you guys and girls make me proud... once again, I was able to feel those butterflies in my stomach as the announcer asked... "Drum Major... is your corps ready?"... you guys went on to improve another step in the finals the next night - you are AWSOME BABY... what a year to remember, be proud, strut your stuff, you all earned the right... and now I can't wait to see what 2010 will bring... Drum Corps never gets old... and you made all us old alumni feel like kids again - thank you, thank you, thank you...!!!

I saw the corps in person for the first time yesterday morning, the trip from North Carolina was well worth it. What a great bunch of young adults. New London has much to be proud of.
Kudos to the admin folks, Tim, Edgar, Barb, Harold, Daisy, Jim, Fawn, and all the volunteers, Moms and Dads. I'm sorry if I forgot anyone, everyone was wonderful. What a thrill it had to be for kids to perform in that facility. (We thought Manning Bowl was it)!
For the alumni - time to step up and help the kids out. Needs are many and we all can do something. I plan on starting my contribution early (today) once I get home. Every penny counts - support YOUR corps!

For the corps members - Thank you for making an "old" Surfer smile. See you on the Fifty!

Have a safe trip home, your family and friends are very proud of you all.
